Le doublé pour l’ENSM, l’école de la Marine Marchande !

Après trois jours de compétition intense et des matchs de très haut niveau, c’est l’équipage ENSM 1 qui s’est imposé parmi les 27 équipages en lice. Cette dernière journée était presque idyllique pour clôturer ce championnat de France et cette Coupe d’Europe de voile universitaire dans la rade de Cherbourg-en-Cotentin : du soleil et du vent. Bravo à Yann, Malo, Come, Thomas et Titouan pour la performance et cette régularité tout au long de la compétition, qui a payé. 

Come, ENSM1 : « On navigue ensemble avec Titouan, Thomas et Malo depuis trois ans. On est super heureux d’être venus, même s’il va encore falloir justifier nos absences ahah ! Pour une première participation, c’est génial de gagner. Et puis on garde le titre à l’école.
Sur cette finale, on s’était qualifiés premiers, donc il ne nous restait plus qu’une manche à gagner pour décrocher le titre. On l’a fait dès la première : on a pris un bon départ, on a bien suivi les oscillations… On est vraiment trop contents. L’objectif est rempli. »

Pour compléter le podium, Université de Nantes 1 et UBS 1 (Université Bretagne Sud) ont su faire la différence dans une flotte particulièrement relevée cette année encore. Bravo à tous les étudiants venus se battre sur le plan d’eau : cette édition restera marquée par de belles régates et des conditions météorologiques parfois exigeantes.

A double win for ENSM, the French Merchant Marine Academy!

After three days of intense racing and high-level match racing, the ENSM 1 crew came out on top among the 27 teams competing. The final day proved almost idyllic to wrap up this French University Championship and European University Sailing Cup in the harbour of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin. In total, eight flights were sailed today, bringing the total to 24 races since Thursday.

“We’ve been sailing together with Titouan, Thomas and Malo for three years. We’re really happy to be here, even if we’ll still have to justify our absences! For our first participation, it’s amazing to win. And we’re keeping the title within our school.
Going into the final, we qualified in first place, so we only needed one more win to secure the title. We managed to do it straight away in the first race: we had a good start and followed the wind shifts well. We’re really happy. The goal has been achieved.”

To complete the podium, Université de Nantes 1 and UBS 1 (Université Bretagne Sud) delivered strong performances in what was once again a highly competitive fleet this year. Congratulations to all the students who battled it out on the racecourse — this edition will be remembered for its great racing and challenging weather conditions.
